What makes a japanese name neutral
Neutral japanese names sidestep the tradition's gendered endings (feminine -ko, -mi, -ka, -na, -e, -hime, -ne; masculine -ro, -shi, -to, -ki, -maru, -hiko, -suke) and resolve on the culture's shared codas instead. In practice that produces names that read equally well on any character — useful for androgynous characters, and equally for GMs who want a name before they've decided anything else about an NPC.
