How goliath names work
Goliath names come in three parts: a birth name, a nickname earned through deeds, and a clan name. The birth names are long and vowel-rich with a rolling three-or-four-syllable rhythm, and they carry no gender — goliath culture judges by accomplishment, not by who you were born as. The nickname is the one that actually gets used.
Anatomy of a goliath name
This generator assembles names the way the tradition does. Typical openings include Aukan, Eglath, Gae, Ilikan, Kavaki, Keo, Lo, Manneo; names run 2 syllables and resolve on endings such as -kan, -thal, -vak, -nea, -tham, -lo. The tradition doesn't gender-code its names — any ending suits any character.

Where goliath names come from
Goliath naming is a three-part system with rules players can feel: a birth name, a clan name, and — the load-bearing part — an honorific earned and updated by deeds (Aukan "Twice-Orphaned," Thotham "Skywatcher"). Published lore adds the detail that goliaths are ruthlessly meritocratic: the honorific is not decoration but a live score, and a goliath who fails may have it revoked. Birth names run long and vowel-rich, with no gendered forms — accomplishment, not birth, is the axis of goliath identity.
How to build a good one
Give the birth name three or four rolling syllables with generous vowels (Aukan, Ilikan, Vaunea) and no gender coding. Then do the real work in the honorific: a compact deed-phrase — Rootbreaker, Twice-Orphaned, Longstrider — specific enough to invite the question "how?" The clan name can stay simple (Anakalathai-style length is canon but optional). A goliath name without an earned epithet is a resume with no experience section.
At the table
Make the honorific mechanical: award new ones after signature deeds and, for real goliath flavour, threaten revocation after failure. A goliath NPC introduced as "Vaunea, once called Peakwarden" carries an entire fallen arc in four words — and a goliath PC will chase a better epithet harder than most treasure.
